Where's the beef?

It has been a bit of a while since I posted. The wait has gotten very frustrating for all the December waiting families. There have been very few if any rumors from China on this batch. The ones coming in are saying that 11/30/05 is the cutoff so I would say it looks doubtful for a referral for us this time. I called our agency and they think it will be next month.

I finished the quilt for Sienna and it came off very nice. next week John and I will finish our travel shots. I brought items to send in a care package as soon as we get a referral. I will send a disposable camera, baby blanket, plush toy and a little photo album with our pictures. That way our child can become acquainted with us before we arrive.

Mom was in the hospital this week for chest pains and it turned out to be a problem with her esophagus, but it was very scary nonetheless.

Also, we found termites in our house and they are in at least 3 places, including in the cabinets under the kitchen counter. It looks like we are going to have to tent the house soon. We needed this like a hole in our head.

Sienna likes her new school and has adjusted well. The drop offs have been a little difficult as she was experiencing a little separation anxiety. She is looking forward to being Belle from Beauty and the Beast for Halloween and going trick or treating with her buddy Andrew from All Saints school. We have trick or treated with them for the last few years.

I am all settled in my new office and loving it. It takes a while to get to it because of the traffic in the mornings, and sometimes it takes longer than driving to my old office! Next week is the big Grand Opening Celebration and I think we should have a very good turnout. This has taken a lot of effort on my part and i will be relieved to have the new office signed sealed and delivered.

Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm 9/07

They referred until 11/25/05 and we could be next!

If they refer the same amount of children next month as they did this month we could be next! If we are not next then we will certainly be on for the first of November with travel in December. Though, my gut is telling me we are next! That would mean travel in November about ten weeks from now!

We went to Knotts Berry Farm Saturday with our neighbors and then we all stayed at the Doubletree hotel in Orange. After a relaxing swim in the pool we had a nice dinner at the Block in Orange and ate at Dave and Busters. For those of you haven't been there it is like a Las Vegas Casino without the gambling. It is a huge arcade for adults along with a Bars and restaurants packed inside. It is great fun. The next day we took the shuttle to the Disneyland hotel and had a character breakfast. We saw Belle (Sienna's favorite princess), Snow White (Juliet's favorite), Cinderella, Goofy, Pluto, Minnie Mouse and Baloo (from Jungle Book). All the kids had their autograph book signed.

On the way home John drove over some debris on the road and blew out 2 tires. Thank goodness everyone was fine and we were towed to pep boys where we were able to buy two tires.
